Fall Favorite: Turmeric Latte

unnamed-3.jpg

Rewind a couple of months ago when I started this blog and I thought that I had my game plan all figured out. I did a lot, I mean a lot of research on “how to start to blog”. The one thing that was a theme with the articles that I read was consistency. I was like, ok yea of course I mean that makes sense and how hard could it be it be to be consistent if your writing about things that are happening in your day to day life anyways. Well….there is a 4 letter word that gets in the way and tests you even when you think you have a “plan”, L-I-F-E. Since I started my blog to the present day a lot has changed and for the good. For one I am a student again studying Holistic Nutrition and I could not be happier. With that being said it is a lot of work, so I am trying to find the balance between work, school, and the blog. So here I am after a brief bump in the road and ready to get back into the game, haha its been 2 months!

With all that being said I’m here and I have a new recipe. With the colder weather creeping in oh so quickly there is nothing that I crave more than something warm in the morning. I am not a coffee drinker so my drink of choice is tea. I came across a turmeric milk recipe but wanted something that I could drink on a daily basis with the perfect milky and sweetness taste with a boost of energy to make it through my 4 hr lectures. This latte did just that. Added bonus if you have extra time and boil the ginger water and cinnamon the night before!

I added an ingredient that many probably wouldn’t add to a latte, oil! But not just any oil. You may or may not know this but fat/oil is not the enemy and actually, we need it to perform a lot of important functions in our body. Some good fats that you should incorporate into your diet are, avocado, EVOO, cashews and fish just to name a few. One of my favorites is coconut oil. Coconut oil has a lot of great benefits for one it’s is a medium chain fat, right so what does that mean. Basically, they give us immediate energy and because they are easy to absorb and not stored as fat because we use it for energy, those suffering from digestive issues should incorporate these good fats into their diets.
