Hello and welcome! My name is Sade and like many people, food is a big part of my life. Ibelieve that feeling good on the inside is just as important as feeling good on the outside. My first love is fashion. I worked in fashion for 10+ years it was my dream I would eat, sleep and breathe everything fashion. But no matter how great I felt on the outside it did not match what I was feeling on the inside. I started to develop cystic acne along with serious digestive issues that landed me in the ER on many occasions, with the same outcome from the Dr’s “ma’am you are all clear on our end”. At this point, I knew that I had to make a change in my lifestyle.
Let me take it back a couple of years, ok many years ago. At a very young age, you would find me in the kitchen baking anything from cookies to cheesecake, cakes to cupcakes. I also loved helping my mom in the kitchen whether she was making bread from scratch or her own seasoning (A Trinidadian marinade) also from scratch. When I was not in the kitchen baking I was eating. I use to eat everything from burgers, pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, cookies and candy you name it. However around my mid-twenties, I started to develop many stomach issues. In 2013 I decided to make some smarter decisions in my life around my health. I started to work out and also changed my eating habits. I took matters into my own hands and started to eliminate certain foods, specially gluten, dairy, and sugar. I started to educate myself about food as much as I could by reading books, articles, blogs you name it. It became an obsession but one that I am grateful for. My learning about food plus a trip to a Naturopath has opened up my eyes to so many possibilities and has me feeling great again about myself and food in a healthy way. Needless to say since these changes I have made I now feel that the inside and outside are started to work in tandem, this is still a journey and I am still learning a lot but I am on my way to a happier, healthier lifestyle that is working for me.
I am back in the kitchen and continuing my love for food by having fun using real food along with experimenting with gluten and dairy free recipes. I am also a huge love for travel, fitness, and fashion. My goal is to share the information that inspires me to live a life that fuels me both inside and out and my hope is that you find the same here on my blog.
